another post

so, the past few weeks have been slightly boring, except for this one, I finally started working up these drawings i've been doing.. its a door a window schedule for the new house in Vel De Vie, which still has not been approved.. but the schedules that im doing are quite different from the ones im use to.. with each door and windows i have to draw, the plan, an elevation sections and details, plus discriptions etc.
up till Monday i had just been setting the drawings out, eg, no line weights or annotations, but now that im done with that, and have started to work them up, they are really starting to look great :)

So, this week has been pretty unproductive, due to all the public holidays..
Has to pick up the boundary wall drawings from council as there were a few amendments and changes had to be made.
Either way, we would not be able to proceed with construction because the client is having 2nd thoughts about it, due to cost.
the kitchen is still going ahead as planned, i have just finished a new set of revised drawings which has gone off to the joiner for pricing.
Sketch Plans for the proposed dwelling in the Vel De Vie polo estate have been sent to the committee of architects there and everything seems to be okay with the design, so hopefully we will start on the council submissions now.
Yesterday we went to survey a site on which we are going to design and build a pool for previous clients.

weekly post 1

summary of my 1st almost 3months working at Bert Pepler Architects..
Took some getting use to the long hours, but now that I am, things are going well.
It's quite a small firm with just the three of us working there..
started working in Feb, as alterations to a house from the previous 2years were been finished off, so I just started where the previous intern left off..
I've done a full set of drawings for a proposed boundary wall and have made quite a few trips to council trying to get the plans approved so Construction should be on its way soon.
I've also done some drawings for a new kitchen for the same house that were showed to the clients and they have finally decided to go through with it. This projected is currently going through the costing process.
Bert Pepler has recently finished designing a new house in the Val De Vie Polo Estate and i am currently busy with those technical drawings(Roof plan, sections and details)
Unlike most of the other students in the Class, I do pencil drawings at work, at 1st I was pretty skeptical about the idea, but now its not that bad, yes it does get frustrating at times when changes are made and i have to continuously erase and redraw and it is also extremely time consuming, but I've really learnt a lot this way and my    
drawing ability has improved immensely.
